Family Messenger October 13, 2009

Dear God,
Send your Holy Spirit daily to lead and guide us.
Help us to grow in wisdom, in grace and knowledge,
in kindness, compassion and love.
May we serve you faithfully with our whole hearts devoted to you.
May we discover the joy of your presence
through our relationship with your Son, Jesus.
Amen.

A Message from the Principal
Yesterday, Incarnation’s faculty and staff joined other Catholic elementary schools in the San Fernando Region for an all day workshop at Bishop Alemany High School. The workshop was presented by Dr. Debra Pickering and was titled “Effective Teaching and Effective Learning.” It was a great workshop with lots of opportunity for collegial conversations about student learning. These professional development days help us return to the classroom with validation of what we do and with new ideas and food for thought for improving our practices.

Autumn weather is now here, and with that comes the start of the cold and flu season. To help prevent the spread of colds and flu, please keep your child home if he/she exhibits any of the following symptoms: cough, stuffy nose, sore throat, fever, vomiting. If your child does display any of these symptoms while at school, his/her teacher may request that your child is sent home. Please remember that if your child does have a fever, he/she needs to be fever-free (without the use of a fever reducer) for 24 hours BEFORE they can return to school. Thank you for your cooperation.

May your week be blessed!

Ms. Olivia Carrillo
