Family Messenger March 30, 2010

Almighty God,
During these holy days we
recall the great love your Son, Jesus,
had for us. By observing these days,
May we grow in our love and faith.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

A Message from the Principal
We are about to enter into the Triduum, the holiest days of the year. They begin on the evening of Holy Thursday with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper when we recall that Jesus gave his body and blood and taught us to care for others when he washed the disciples’ feet. They continue on Good Friday with the celebration of the Lord’s Passion as we remember Christ’s sacrifice for us. On the night of Holy Saturday, we celebrate the great Easter Vigil, when our Savior bursts out of the tomb, and on Easter Sunday we continue to celebrate the Resurrection with great joy. On these days, we remember the final events in Jesus’ earthly life. The following is Incarnation Church’s holy week schedule:

• Holy Thursday – Concelebrated Mass of the Lord’s Supper (7:30 p.m.)
• Good Friday – Stations of the Cross (2:00 p.m.) and Celebration of the Lord’s Passion (3:00 p.m.)
• Holy Saturday – Solemn Easter Vigil and Concelebrated Mass (8:00 p.m. lasting approx. 2 hrs.)

As we approach the Triduum, I pray that you have a blessed Holy Week and joyous Easter. May your Easter week be filled with peace and happiness.

Ms. Olivia Carrillo

Talent Show

Auction Reminders
Our auction luncheon is approaching. Please see the enclosed RSVP form. We need your response even if you do not plan on attending. Please note that the luncheon is for adults only (21 and over). No children are permitted. We are also still in need of items for our class baskets for our silent auction. Please bring in items for the themed baskets. The Easter break is also a good time to sell raffle tickets to family and friends!

Reminder: The mandatory fundraising donations of $150 each for the Auction Lunch tickets and Auction Raffle tickets are due even you are not attending or not selling your tickets. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Fenton.

Electrical Upgrade Update
The electrical project has now been sent out for bid, and a job walk is scheduled for this afternoon. We are hoping to make a decision on the contractor by the end of April. The tentative start of the project will be June 14. More updates to come.

We are currently working on the 2010-2011 school calendar. School calendars must be submitted to the Department of Catholic Schools by April 30. We will tentatively begin the new school year on Monday, August 30, 2010 pending final approval.
