Family Messenger, December 1, 2010

Lord, you are the light of all nations.
You are our hope and our peace.
As we wait for the bright promise of Christmas,
may we never forget your promises
and may we always trust in you.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

A Message from the Principal

On Sunday, we began the season of Advent. Advent is a time of quiet, joyful preparation for the celebration of Jesus’ birth and also a time to remember that we wait for Christ to come again at the end of time. This is a time of anticipation and new beginnings. At school, the fourth grade class will lead us in the lighting of the Advent wreath each Monday morning during December. At home, you can create a mood of anticipation with your family by displaying the empty manger from a Christmas nativity scene; you can also set an Advent wreath at home and light it each week as we approach Christmas.

May this season of Advent fill your family with joy!

Ms. Olivia Carrillo

SCRIP Tips

So many tips....so little space. Christmas is almost here and there are only 17 more days that Scrip will be available for purchase. DON'T delay!!! This time of year is hectic and we want to be sure you're not missing out on profits. Order forms are in the Home Messenger so make yourself a nice cup of hot chocolate, sit down, study them, and order what you need. Also in the Home Messenger, there is a list of additional limited time profit offers. New this year, you can purchase a gift certificate in any denomination from the Scrip Desk. The recipient can then "shop" for what they want. What a wonderful way to honor our beloved teachers and staff. Best of all, we will give the profits of what they "purchase" to you! Again, we are here to help!
