Family Messenger, May 18, 2010
Eternal God,
With Jesus and with the Holy Spirit
you reign over all the earth.
Strengthen our faith so that one day,
we too will be united with you.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
A Message from the Principal
As many of you have already heard, Mr. Haik Vardanyan, ASP staff member, hot lunch program assistant, and son of Ms. Louiza Petrosyan, passed away suddenly this weekend. As the school community mourns this loss, we ask for your prayers for Ms. Louiza and her family during this difficult time.
We will keep school families informed about any services that are planned in memory and celebration of Haik’s life. If anyone wishes to send any condolences to the family, please do so through the school office.
For students who wish to speak with someone during the grieving process, Mrs. Joanna Hovland (Saporito) will be available on Wednesday and Thursday during the school day. If you would like your child to speak with her, please indicate so on the enclosed permission form. Permission forms must be returned to the school office no later than Wednesday, May 19.
Sincerely,
Ms. Olivia Carrillo

Swim Team News
Saturday’s swim team car wash fundraiser was a big success. The team raised over $900!! THANK YOU to all the families who helped wash and to those who brought their cars to support the swim team. With these funds, the swimmers are able to practice in August to get ready for the season and first meet in September. A very special thank you to the Ghantous family who created the awesome banner that was hung on Central Avenue. The beautiful banner, along with our yelling kids, attracted many cars into the parking lot!!
Thanks again to all. If you are interested in being a part of the swim team, please contact Juliet Mendoza at: jmazza@mendozaassociates.com. Swim team is open to all students K-8th grade.
